my alocasia is growing a new leaf! i’ve had it for 7 months and this is the first new growth :)
Hi, I was wondering what types of fish do well with hydroponic plants, and what hydroponic plants benefit from fish. I know that when the fish eats some of the roots, it encourages more root growth, and that it helps the plant stay healthy, and then I think the plant supplies oxygen in the water, only if there is sunlight, and oxygen is essential for the fish to breathe underwater through its gills, or else it will drown. There was an observation done, in botany, where if you put a hydroponic with a lid on in a jar full of water in the window, sunlight will help it to produce oxygen in the water, where opposed to storing it out of sunlight, this would not happen, in order for oxygen to supply, would I have to keep it in a greenhouse in the sun with some ventilation? I Don’t want the fish to get too hot. This also begs the question for a garden pond, with koi fish, lotuses, and lilies. How would a garden pond benefit in a greenhouse? I’m pretty sure it has to be direct sunlight too in order for the oxygen to supply. I’m thinking about how to have healthy fish, and plants, if I were to do that, I would like it to work, whatever way that’s best possible.
Hey! Newbie plant mom here- this is a phal orchid. Some of the flowers are wilting and the leaves look like they’re yellowing? (I might be wrong) I never put it in direct sunlight, I only water it once a week, and my room is the right temperature. Am i doing something wrong?
just ordered a Philodendron Warsewiczii Aura, and was wondering if there are any special requirements others with this plant would recommend to keep it as healthy as possible. spent a pretty penny on it and i want to keep it looking it’s best, so any advice is very much appreciated :)
just got this plant a few days ago and it’s wilting. What could this be from? It’s in partial sun and get watered the amount planta tells me.
15 orchids later, this is done
I need some opinions! I’ve been thinking about adding coffee grounds to my plants for fertilizer, but I don’t want to harm any of my plants. Should I do it? Are there any plants this is specifically good or bad for?
Got a couple blooms on my girl.
Can someone tell me what the name of this plant is? It just says large foilage. And any tips. Tia!
Does anyone know why my snake plant has these marks?
I cut off some leaves of my flower (Solenia apricot) because they were crunchy and had a white film type thing and they were just overall dead because they weren’t facing the sun at all.(I don’t know if cutting it was the right option but maybe healthy buds will grow 🤞). I have a pot that keeps the soil wet at all times but I don’t know if I’m overwatering it. I wish I had another window to put it in but I don’t have a better one to face the sun and I can’t turn the flower in the pot to face the sun. In your opinion do you think this setup is okay? Since I bought it, that bid on the left has grown so maybe? Anything I can do?
I just got this Japanese Aralia last weekend and placed her on my front patio. I’m in the Fort Worth Tx area, zone 8. The patio faces east and gets 2-3 hours of direct very early morning sun then dappled to complete shade the rest of the day. She’s drooping. 🤷🏻♀️ No bugs. I went ahead and watered her early to the app’s recommendation as she was dry but I’m curious if it’s simply too hot in Texas to try to keep her outside. What are your thoughts? Pictured left, the day I bought her. Pictured right, today…droopy
She went crazy on me started growing new stuff out the bottom!!!
Hey, my Monstera never did this since I got it. I moved it outside 4 days ago for the first time and now this bud is growing. What is it a flower? I'm talking bout the lil bud by the new leaf😂.
Picked up Mercedes at the Walmart in Pembroke Pines blvd. She has many sisters there for 24 dollars
Thank you all I found some new plants and so excited to try out in my room. I attached a new picture with them on the stand that they are on now. I have allergies and asthma. Found peace Lillie’s and snake plants. I find that most are outdoor plants but I don’t know it I can have tulips and daffodils inside. Cactus are my next indoor plant I’m going to try and do. I posted my peace Lillie’s and snake plant I have already and they look great. I want to expand but it’s so hard finding indoor plants. Yes I’ve googled 😩 What others could you suggest that are for indoors?
My aloe is doing great… but it keeps leaning. Any time I put a “holder” in it, that leaf gets smooched and dies. What do you all do? Or do I do nothing? Thanks.
Any staghorn fern experts on here? I got this huge fern from a local nursery and discovered that it had scales when I got it home. I repotted it and treated with horticultural oil and systemic granules, and put on a headlamp and got to work manually removing all the scale. It was not a huge infestation, but it made me very nervous since I’ve never dealt with them before and I didn’t want to compromise all my plants, so it’s sitting in the hallway. I’m afraid it only gets a a few hours of evening light in the hall and I’m worried that with the relocating and insect treatment that it might not adapt to its new pot. So far it seems like it’s doing fine, but it anyone has any tips for keeping him healthy during this transition period please let me know! It’s been almost 2 weeks since the first treatment and repotting .
Does anyone know what these microscopic opaque guys are on my new terrarium? I know what I want them to be. Hope the pictures help!
