First freeze tonight (zone 6b). Everyone is now inside. Fruit trees, houseplants, cactus all of them.
can anyone tell me what this is and the best care for it. it was a gift from a friend that came to me half dead. but apparently new soil and a good watering brought it back to life
Lowe’s had a bunch of sago palms and Sanserverias all half price. Don’t know if all Lowe’s have them but the one in Seabrook NH did. I paid $15 for this! It’s hard to really tell the size from the picture but that’s a 12 inch pot. I repotted it because it was in a nursery pot. SCORE!
Hi guys!! I’m completely new to this plant stuff but my fiancé got me a snake plant to put at my desk at work, I was hoping to make our classroom more green!! I’m wondering what plants you guys can recommend that aren’t super hard to take care of and can go a weekend without getting water!!
Hi friends! I’m in Michigan and have just brought all my houseplants that were outside for summer back inside. Everything has been debugged and all are inside except my Croton. It’s about 4’ tall by 3’ wide and I need some suggestions to help it stay this healthy. I’ll keep it under a grow light but should I do anything else? Should I buy a special grow light? Thx
I just got a grow light for my lil guys because my desk doesn’t get a whole lot of sun. The reviews I got online were good but just wanted to ask the professionals (you guys) to see how you’ve liked yours! :)
Hi I’m brand new to plant health and plant care and I’m wondering if anyone knows what’s up with my string of hearts I just got it about 2 weeks ago and it seems kind of limp and just overall not doin good I would appreciate it if I got some pointers and tips:)
This is a zebra plant and when I got it it had some brown spots on some of the leaves. Although the plant is growing new leaves, the dead spots keep spreading. Should I just cut it or… thanks for your help.
My Alocasia Maharani blessed me with a happy new leaf! One of my favorite plants tbh
What is this stuff growing in the dirt? Mold? I have it in multiple plants. How do I get rid of it?
Anyone know what kind of Dieffenbachia this is?
My African Violet Babies just keep blooming! All year long bloom have just been pushing out blooms. My other 5 are iffy 😂. ☝🏽 1 did have soil issues.
Hi y’all first time poster I’m hoping people have some answers for me because I’m and the end of my rope, how on earth are y’all keeping your cats( if you have any) out of your house plants? My cats have be distorting the leaves on my monstera and I’m getting so overly frustrated I’m just thinking about rejoining my cats. So any advice will help or if anyone want ls a cat at this point they are free to good homes.
ITS ONLY 6:44 PM THE BRITISH WINTERS ARE TRYING TO RUIN MY PLANTS “ahem” luckily I invested into the magical light that is called a grow light, so these green fiends can get some of that extra saucy light. HAPPY LIGHT PLANTING?
Time for some repotting MADNESS!!! (Also if you’re wondering what I’m mixing with, and what for, this is for my aroids, I’ve got some general house plant potting mix, vermiculite (great for keeping the soil moist but not a waterfall) orchid bark so the roots can get some breaths into their meditation practices, and sphagnum moss for the top soil to keep away that pesky mould. HAPPY PLANTING!!
My 4 year old and I have been attempting to grow strawberry plants from strawberries we bought at the store. It’s been such a fun experience. We started August 1st and each picture is the first of the month since then. It was slow to start, but they really took off this last month!
I have a question, it might be a bit silly though... if plants have roots to drink water and nutrients and also to stabilise them, then a plant with a lot of roots is hunting for more water and nutrients? Someone asked me this and I didn't know how to answer
BEFORE and AFTER 🤩 Pure therapy lol This $6 clearance from Lowes is my 3rd Peace Lily and she is a BEAUTY‼️ 🫶🏾🌱
Hi Planty peeps! I have this gorgeous Banana plant which is thriving to the extent I have two miniature ones growing underneath the main one. When would you advise taking these out and sowing them as individual plants? One of them looks a bit cramped. They’ve surprised me in how well and how quickly they’ve popped up!
