I have this ctenanthe burle marxii in my study that I absolutely adore, but it is my only plant that is only in water and I am at a loss. It is only in purified water and gets plenty of indirect sunlight, but I am not sure how to give it nutrients. Any tips on what fertilizers to use and how often for water culture?

I’m wanting to make my own chunky soil mix. What’s everyone suggestions? I keep having problems with gnats because my soil doesn’t drain well. I bought miracle grow indoor plant soil and perlite but I would like to make it chunkier. Thanks in advance!

Should we uproot this tree?: This is most likely a white walnut tree that is growing in our patio. It has started becoming invasive and out of control. We would appreciate any helpful suggestions or sharing. Thanks 🙏

I was weeding my front flowerbeds a couple of weeks ago when I ran across a “weed” that had a familiar tri-lobed leaf shape. Three days prior to that I had purchased maypops for a trellis I was planning for the back yard so recognized the leaf immediately. Sure enough, the weed turned out to be a “gift” from the birds. I dug it up and potted it. It got really droopy and I was sure I left too many of it roots in the ground when I dug it up. Last week I was gone for about 5 days and came home to a plant that had doubled in size and is actually doing better than the cuttings that I had paid for!

Polka Dot Plant question: I repotted this plant a few weeks ago from its 2” nursery pot to this ceramic one. I’ve kept it watered according to the schedule and have read it needs low light to keep its variegation. But it seems to be struggling with losing/wilting leaves, etc and I’m not sure why. Any suggestions??

Hey! I’ve been caring for my plants for about 2 years now and I’ve never used any fertiliser or plant food. I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations that are good for all plants? Thanks:)

I have discovered that bottom watering plants is ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS since I have so many plants that need to be watered every day. It just blows my mind because it makes watering so easy and much less tedious! One question; I’m using this method for my moisture loving plants, BUT, can I use the same method for plants like corn plants, pathos, or anything that needs to be totally dry before I water it? Normally I would use a wooden stake to check for moisture levels in these plants to see if they are completely dry. CAN I BOTTOM WATER PLANTS like these THAT NORMALLY LIKE TO DRY OUT COMPLETELY? TIA for any return posts. 🤗💚🪴 PS. Here’s a few of my plants that like to dry out completely, and there’s more, 😵‍💫!
