Would most ppl agree that peperomias are semi succulent as far as watering? And soil should be 50-70% dry before watering? For the 5 or 6 peperomias I have, the care info in planta says to let the top layer dry out. I interpret that as just 1-2”. What does everyone think??? So double check and do some research. Don’t just rely on this app for your plant care needs Pic for attention 😊

I agree with you. When Planta says to water, if it’s not dry enough yet, I tell Planta why in postponing (still wet) and it will adjust the schedule for the most part with success.

I do too. End up snoozing for a long time. (Maybe bc I’ve only had the app for 2-3 weeks) But I also worry about people who might not know this and end up overwatering based on plantas advice. I guess I just want people to be aware they should be doing their own research as well and not just rely on this for all their plant care

Sounds like me offering advice in line at Home Depot yesterday when a young lady was buying a little 4-inch Pothos and a huge decorative pot she was going to plant it directly in to. 😬

I’ve done similar before too. Then wondered why I said anything. She didn’t ask and maybe she knew what she was doing. Maybe that planter wasn’t for that particular plant 🤦🏼‍♀️

She definitely was. And the bag of ‘soil’ she had was actually some kind of ‘plant food’. worm castings or something. Another lady and I got her on the right track. She actually asked for our help.

People need to realize that Planta cannot take every scenario into consideration. They have to generalize many conditions. But about peperomias, yes most are semi succulent. Actually the app a has been pretty much on target with the watering. An example. I realize these pots are not same width but I have them somewhere in same. Anyway the left will dry out much faster than the style on the right. Even though they both could be listed as “shallow” planters, or “terracotta” planters. There is no listing for “shallow terracotta” planters. It’s one or the other. This is why everyone needs to check before watering.
