Hi! I just got a new plant — a Cordyline (Ti plant) — and I’m keeping him indoors. He's around a grow light I have for my othet plants though I bought that one by chance to be honest. I want to get a grow light to help him thrive (not just survive), but I’m really confused by everything. I keep reading that Cordylines need around 20–30 watts, but every grow light I find on Amazon says something like “300W equivalent,” and when I look at the actual product specs, it only uses like 10 real watts. I know watts = power consumption, so do I focus more on lumens or something else like PAR? I’m placing him in a corner of my room, so I’m looking for a light that either: Has a base or stand to go over the plant, or Can stick into the soil. I’m trying to keep it under $40, since it’s only for this one plant. Any advice or specific light recommendations would really help — thank you!! 😓 (Also I don't know why the message repeated) I keep reading that Cordylines need around 20–30 watts, but every grow light I find on Amazon says something like “300W equivalent,” and when I look at the actual product specs, it only uses like 10 real watts. My only advice at this point would be not to get one that sticks right into the dirt. I bought a few of that type before I had experience with them and now every time I want to water the plant or move it I have to deal with dirt pulling out as I pull the light out and it's just a messy deal.

You could also just wrap a paper towel around it so that as you remove it, the dirt falls back into the pot. I never have issues with mine.
