Plant lovers, I could use some advice! The tips of my Tradescantia Nanouk have just started turning brown. Any idea what might be causing it and how I can fix it? I’d really appreciate the help!

I wish I knew my young tradescantia get that a lot too
0 likesAre you using tap water, or clean water? These are sensitive to things in their water, especially chlorine.
0 likesI’m using spring water.
0 likesYeah I second the tap water issue. Spider plants are also notorious for tips browning because of tap water. I’d switch to distilled/ reverse osmosis or rainwater if possible. It won’t kill your plant it is just unsightly
2 likesI’ll give distilled water a try and see if that helps. Thanks so much!

1 likeThank you! They love my grow light.
1 likeYour plant is stunning and healthy and unfortunately I don’t think there’s much one can do to prevent them. I have a few Nanouk and all of them have some brown leaf tips but are all happy otherwise.

0 likesI found with my tradescantia she tended to brown around the edges if ANY water got directly on the leaves, bottom watering is the way to go if you’re not already!
1 likeThat could be another possibility. I usually alternate between bottom and top watering. At first, I thought it might be caused by a cold draft from the central air, but after checking the airflow, that doesn’t seem to be the issue.
