   They absolutely love full sun! You made the right choice with the guard around them! Almost all pests are attracted to tomatoes. I had Spider mites in one of mine. Also, the big box stores like Walmart, Home Depot, etc, love to water their plants. This is a blessing and a curse. If you had not done so yet, you should repot. Tomatoes are really low maintenance. I hope this helped!
