(I also asked about this in the philo grout, but I thought someone here might be able to help) I have some questions about my heart leaf philodendron brasil🪴💛 1) Is this a double leaf trying to unfurl at the top? If so, yay! But should I help it? 2) I’m pretty sure that lower brown stem (vine?) is dead :( It looks like it has new growth at the end, so could I cut it past the brown section and put in water, or is it a lost cause already?

    1) helping leaves unfurl is viewed differently by different people, and for different plants-- I always err on the side of caution and only help by misting or putting it closer to the humidifier. I learned the hard way not to tug on them, but other people do it and seem to have no issue haha. 2) yes, you can totally cut the green part and propagate it in water. You might want to check the roots, though-- it's better if the rest of the plant isn't in a pot with rotting roots. Sorry for the lack of formatting; I have no idea how to do it on planta.

That’s so helpful!! I will check the roots and make sure the rest is able to grow healthy. And thank you for the mist/humidifier suggestion for the unfurling as well!

Lol! Someone should 😂 finally I was like all right all right I get it. But now it’s got like five different things coming out of that spot so maybe it wasn’t all bad? 🤷🏻‍♀️
