HELP! The tree I bought for my office has some odd growth. I’ve had it for a few months now and haven’t had any issues until this week. There are occasional leaf drops but there were about a dozen that I noticed today and then I saw this growth at the base of the trunk. What is it and what do I do?
It looks like dog vomit slime mold 😂 I did not know it could happen indoors with houseplants. I watch that stuff crawl across my mulch outside from time to time.
This is just all around extremely upsetting information… thoughts and prayers for OP 🙏🏻🫣

I usually try to repot and not overwater when I have had it on a plant in the past. It loves the dampness. Good luck!
