So I’m new to propagating and naïvely jumped into TC’s. I actually thought I was bidding on small starter plants. I didn’t understand what a tissue culture was. But they’re here! Two of them say philodendron light leaf, one is a Calandria bubble and a Syngonium pink salmon. I’ve been doing a lot of research but keep getting conflicting information. I ordered Statum and Perlite and we’ll put them in a dome. My question is how long after getting them can I pot them? Some say right away and some say they should be under a grow light for 3 to 7 days. Some say to use liquid fertilizer and some say don’t. Also conflicting info on whether to use self watering cups or not. Any advice would be extremely helpful!

    Tissue culture plants are grown in a sterile environment. The gel medium they start in is mostly a kind of gelatin with sugar as the main food for the plant, so it's very easy for it to grow mold (hence why it needs the sterile environment.) When taking a plant out of tissue culture, it's pretty small and not used to anything it would need its immune system for, so it's delicate.

      First you move it into inorganic substrate (the perlite mix) and use sterile (distilled) water and a sealed container. Let it adjust to that, then open the lid just a crack and let it get used to non-sterile air for a week or two. Then take the lid all the way off. Then get it used to non-sterile water a little bit at a time. Once it's good with regular water and gets big enough, you can start getting it used to soil a little bit at a time by mixing some in with mostly perlite each time you repot. Just acclimate it to normal conditions gradually and it should be fine

    I'll only add: do not use fertilizer until it's been repotted in soil and has new growth. I think most stratum has some type nutrients in it.
