Will my plants(tomatoes, eggplants and peppers mostly) survive 3 days in 85-90 degree heat without water? Should I think about hiring a Plant sitter?🙂

They SHOULD but water them deeply before you go and water as soon as you get back. That’s about the max about of time they can typically go when it’s hot and dry

Thanks, I will. They are in pots. Do you think putting them in the shade will help, or will it invite bugs?

I agree with Josie. You can also cover them (or move them into the shade if they’re potted) while you’re gone to reduce the amount of water they need

Thanks, I will. They are all fruiting, and that’s what I’m worried about.

Let me double check with my folks and get back to you. My personal specialty is house plants actually 😅 But my parents are seasoned veggie farmers. I’ll ask them if it’s risky to cover fruiting plants and if the shade might increase pest problems

Depending on the size of the pots you can also put water trays under and once deeply watered it’ll keep water for them to take in for a while after so they stay hydrated. Pots are a little harder to keep watered in the head. My smaller potted plants are having to be watered every other day here my bigger one every two days and my largest every three
