Too much sun? I thought they liked bright, indirect. I have often seen these under hanging grow lights or the strips which can be mounted under shelves. But I lost the struggle with both this and my Calathea.

Also maybe too much water? Most plants should be dry before watering again. A bamboo skewer is great to test soil dampness.

Hi there, sorry to see your baby isn’t doing too well. Are you watering when the app tells you to? It’s best to use the app’s watering by as a prompt to check the soil rather than to water when it says to as the app doesn’t know what conditions your plant is in so it’s using an estimate. As the previous person suggested, you need to check the soil before watering and there’s are a number of ways to do that, the easiest of which is to gently put your fingers into the soil a couple of knuckles deep and see whether it’s still moist and therefore if you can snooze the reminder or not. You can use a chopstick or a water meter too. This family of plants can be tricky and can take a while to master but hopefully you can bring this plant back to life. Another consideration is temperature. Is it getting cold where you are?

I water when soil is bit dry and she was doing well for months then this ranomly happened I would check soil but today I just decided it was best to move her to the grave yard. Then. I realized that when I repotted her about a month before hand or 2 I didn’t loosen up the roots as much as I thought I did so all the new soil fell off of the old soil and roots, could this be a cause

And it is a bit cold. I’ve had her for over a year before I repotted btw

Hmm maybe? I personally don’t like to disturb the plant roots too much when repotting but if you recently repotted, the plant may have just gone into a bit of shock as a result. If as you say, it’s also getting cool where you are, it’s possible that a combination of both things together became a bit much for this maranta. They can come back from just a single leaf though (I was just watching a YouTube video about the calathea/goeppertia/maranta plant families on the Aloha Plant Life channel who showed a few of hers and the journey they were on) so if you feel like trying to rehab the plant, it won’t hurt just to see if it’s possible. Either way, best of luck!
