I bought one at an outdoor nursery, not even taking into consideration, that these plants were outside, in the COLD! That should’ve been a tip off, that this wasn’t a normal house plant. Once I added it to Planta, it wouldn’t let me put it anywhere, except outdoors; it’s currently in a north office window, the coldest place in the house I can find, but I can’t enjoy it since I can’t see it. Can you tell me where you have placed yours? TIA!
2 LikesI actually have a cold, drafty window in my room that is NW facing and I put a lamp over it with a 30w grow bulb for a little extra light. Luckily it seems pretty happy and I’m able to enjoy it every day. It was a wishlist plant for a few years.
1 LikeEven though Planta says this is a shade plant, do you think the reason your Cyclamen looks so pretty and full is because of your plant light? TIA! PS. Another plant light… my husband might kill me… 😉!
1 LikePossibly the light but more likely the pruning of leaves and flower stems. As soon as I see a leaf turning yellow I pinch it off and when the flower droops its petals I’m on top of it. Lately I’ve been adding some silica to the water and I only a few drops of fertilizer every time I water. *I drive my son-in-law crazy with my plant lights
1 LikeLOL! I completely understand the issue with plant lights, and with others who don’t understand their importance! TXS for your comment about pruning leaves and flowers stems; I will do that as soon I see them beginning to yellow. Also, silica sounds like a good idea; I think I’ll add that to their water!
