Two months ago vs today on my heart leaf Philodendron started from a two leaf cutting
For those who remember the problem child post regarding plants from a few months ago (not my original post) I commented that this is my problem plant so hopefully whatever I have been doing continues to work because it needs the help.
0 LikesDo you have any other starts available? If so, you could get a good start on a very large plant. Good luck with this little guy… 🤗💚🪴
0 LikesNope this is all I have and the original mother plant was owned by someone else and it has regretfully died. I had a better start on it but I accidentally killed off half of it and have almost completely restarted. I am considering just buying a full grown plant while keeping this little guy in case I can’t keep him going because this is such a beautiful plant.
0 LikesThese Pothos plants are so easy to propagate; I’ve done it many times, and right now, recently have given one large one away and have a smaller one that is rapidly growing; it will also find a future home with a new family. Yesterday, tragedy struck! My oldest and largest Brazil Pothos had one teeny leaf that had yellowed, which was inside the plant. I went to snip that little leaf off and, accidentally cut one of her five major strands. I simply could not believe what I had done… I literally screamed! I was just sick at heart that I had done such a stupid thing. I’m looking at her now, and my heart grieves that she’s not quite as robust and beautiful as she has been. However, these Pothos plants grow like weeds, and I’m sure that shortly, I’ll have enough starts to grow another big, beautiful plant. Well, that was just an aside about my life with my Pothos plants. With that one stem I accidentally clipped, I now have about nine starts that I am propagating. So, if you know anybody that has a Pothos, or if you even see one growing somewhere, just clip a few ends off of their stems, and stick them in a glass of water; in a short time you’ll have enough starts to plant them along with the start you already have. Let me know how your little Pothos grows; I’d love to hear how she does in the future. Best of luck with your baby! 🤗💚🪴
0 LikesSo sorry I wrote a book! I think I had an attack of diarrhea of the mouth…🙄 🤗💚🪴
0 LikesAnd here are the starts that I am propagating from that terrible mistake of cutting off my Brazil’s long arm; at least she’s becoming a parent to another beautiful new plant. I suppose these pictures may be excessive, but I just wanted to be an encouragement to you. You can definitely make your little Pothos into another big, beautiful beautiful plant, just like your former Pothos! Best of luck. 🤗💚🪴 PS. I sent these pictures separately because I couldn’t figure out how to send them all at once, which is what I’ve seen everybody do. IDK, maybe I’m the village idiot?! 🙄
