Monstera help! My monstera overall seem pretty healthy - constantly growing taller and producing new leaves. HOWEVER in the past week I have had two leaves take a turn for the worse - can anyone explain why this might be happening? Trying to fix it before it affects more of the plant!

It could be overwatering. Water only when most of the soil is dry. Give it more bright indirect light. Low light can cause yellowing and leaf drop. Older leaves die off. It’s normal to lose some as the new ones grow out. 🪴🍀

Thank you! Might have overwatered a bit in the heat as our flat gets super warm!

Wow 🤩 it’s gorgeous. The bottom leaves will yellow with age. I’d cut it off. Do you have the plant in direct sunlight? It looks like it has a couple of crispy edges.

Thaaaanks! I’m so proud it’s grown about 12 inches each year - soon it’ll be too big 🤣

sometimes older leaves will simply wilt and fall off. as the plant grows, it will redirect energy to bigger leaves in order to produce more energy. if yellowing continues on to bigger leaves i'd check the soil, then repot and check the roots. right now nothing to be worried about

Thanks! Had him a few years and it’s the first time it’s happened so being over cautious - I’ll be sure to keep an eye on the big leaves!
