Roundshouse Plants

I've been growing my String of Hearts for a year and a half, and it's over 10ft long! It's trailing onto the floor but I can't move her any higher. Question: how would you hang it? The stems are so delicate I'm afraid to use a regular snap holder on the wall. Suggestions?

Can’t help you with the hanging lol but how do you keep the stems so full?

I enjoy full plants. I would trim it down and replant all the cuttings in the pot. It’ll get fuller and you’ll fix the hanging problems.

Or wrap some of your strands around inside the bowl. They will root down eventually. Trim the rest to propagate!

You could trim and prop or drape over the soil to encourage rooting as recommended. If you want to keep the length and number of strands, there are these tiny command hooks designed to guide electric cables that you can use as additional points to guide and drape the existing plants so they’re not just going straight down. Congrats on keeping it so happy!

I tried training my small one to grow upwards - but they looks so pretty cascading 😍😍

I am doing the same with my pothos. But I am going to have some hanging over as well. That would be pretty with the string of hearts! Some going up and cascading over!

i would have trimmed it by now, mine is over 6 feet long and gets a “haircut” every time it reaches the floor. then you can propagate the cuttings either as a new plant or plant back into the same pot. the vines are thin but string of hearts is a climbing plant in the wild so i would say as long as the whole vine is supported you could adjust it to climb. be aware that when plants hang though, their foliage typically ends up growing upside down

Thank you for the ideas! I knew she was getting long but she was hung near a window next to a shelf and I didn't realize how long she was! 😬 I like a fuller plant so I think propagating or setting it in soil is the way to go. Thanks plant pals!
