Just got these in the mail today! 🌱 My husband apparently went with Calatheas bc “pet friendly & indoor”— I on the other hand have never been interested in them so I know nothing about them. Safe to say I’m about to start looking stuff up on the internet, if you guys have any tips 🫶🏼🫶🏼

make sure you use rainwater or similar purer water for them, prayer plants are very sensitive to chemical additives and excess minerals in their soil. i use filtered tap water treated with aquarium water conditioner if rainwater is unavailable. dry air can cause crispy leaves so it’s worth getting a humidifier if you know your home is dry

Thank you! Is there a specific brand of water conditioner you use?

i use api, it’s about $7 a bottle and you only need a drop per gallon so it will last forever. the ingredients are also fairly safe compared to some other brands

She had me…… [link removed] (Not sure if links work here). User name blossomeffect_ on IG. Saw the reel this morning and I LOL’d I’ve managed to keep ONE Fishbone Prayer alive for almost two years. Almost lost her at the end of last summer due to spider mites.

Yes, definitely use distilled or rainwater / filtered treated tap. Generally use at least half diluted fertilizer if not weaker. They like bright indirect light, and for the white fusion depending on how much light they get they may have more green(more light). They’re also sensitive to drafts so careful where you place them. The white fusion is also prone to spider mites, so I usually just spray every so often with a diluted Castile soap mixture, or you could brush diatomaceous earth on the underside of the leaves. I don’t have one exactly like the one on the left, but in my experience my white fusions are finickier than my marantas. However, if you figure out what they like, they’re prolific growers and look beautiful!
