That’s really hard to say. It could be the plant itself secreting its own stuff. Some alocasias and philodendrons can do this. But also some pests may be the cause also. I would quarantine until you are sure. Are you looking under each leaf for any pests? I’d neem oil it down and let it chill on its own for a bit.

Some species secrete sugar, but there are signs of damage to the leaf. Inspect it very closely for pests or signs of fungal issues and quarantine it. You might do a preventative dose of neem, but otherwise just keep an eye on it and focus on good care

Plants like philodendrons secrete sap to attract ants. The ants keep destructive insects away while benefiting from the sugary sap. This is an unusual amount of sap. But, this plant could be an overachiever! Definitely, check for pests, as suggested, just in case there are additional bugs eating the leaves. 🪴🍀

I would recommend treating for potential thrips. There are some speckles in the leaves which possibly means pests. Worst case: If you treat for pests,, even if it isn't that, your plant would be getting a preventative treatment lol

I did treat it for pests just in case, I checked every single leaf front and back & I saw no pests. I did separate it from my other plants just in case. This plant is growing like crazy tho, the roots are growing fast & its pushing out 3-4 leaf almost every week.
