Calling for anyone’s and everyone’s opinion about house plant fertilizer!! 😊 So, I feel like I should be fertilizing my indoor plants, they are all doing fantastic but growing season is here and I want to bring out the best in them. How do you go about fertilizing plants that have never had it before, and what times are best to do it throughout the year?

I use 1/4 diluted Gold Leaf for every watering. So far it’s helped me reduce the risk of fertiliser burn & I don’t end up fertilising when it’s not ready to be watered. I always check if the plant actually needs water by putting a wooden skewer into the soil & checking how damp/dry that is. Literally every time the app gives a prompt to water I check this was & if water isn’t needed, I snooze the action for a couple of days Hope it helps x

I have just ordered gold leaf for mine mainly because apparently it can be used for semi hydro aswell and my usual fertiliser isn’t suitable for that

I use foliage pro every time I water. You can get that on Amazon. And I use it all year round.

Oh nice! How has that been working for you? Do you dilute it for certain plants?

No, I don’t dilute it. I just use a very small amount in a gallon of water. And I water all my plants the same way.

I use cleankelp at every watering for all of my 50+ plants. Have been fed the past 8 months. They love it! I make a gallon jug of plant water at a time and do a couple of drops of api tap water conditioner and this time of year 10ml of the fertilizer.

Yes! I started using API recently. Still observing my plants how they react.

It’s great! My calatheas and other sensitive water plants don’t have anymore brown tips!

I use Espoma once a month. Thinking of trying the CleanKelp one when I run out. I’ve heard good things about it, but still have to do my research what’s in it (NPK).
