First time plant mom here .. so I’ve had a bird nest fern for over a couple of months.. decided to put her outside for some light . My mistake. I shocked her . So I’ve been trying to revive her. I’ve trimmed her leaves and repotted her.. I’ve also bought a mini greenhouse to help her thrive again . Any advice /tips /recommendations. I feel so sad a bit because I’m trying to love her through all stages .but does she look okay I posted some before/ after sun /and now ( trimmed leaves and in the clear case)pictures.. Thanks :)

Oh ya they’re really finicky. I would leave her be and keep her soil moist. I think she’ll revive!

I had one and killed it. I got a crocodile fern now.. much like a bird nest. I have been told not to get the crown wet.. leads to root rot. So far I have successfully kept it alive after almost killing that one. I have a clear plastic bag over mine with a few holes poked in it to give it high humidity under bright light for now. 🎃

Be careful not to overwater that is a big reason why mine always die and if you don’t already know this just potting soil isn’t good enough. It needs to be a mixture or it’s not chunky enough and it suffocates the roots. I also use moisture indicator sticks from Amazon to tell me when to water so I don’t overwater anymore. Lowe’s has the best plant selection around! They always have good plants and new ones to choose from. Walmart has a lot of basic ones and you can get them really cheap for like five dollars. Maybe it’s time to get a few more (some might be easier)! I bring my plants home from the store and repot them because a lot of times they have root rot because the stores keep them very wet. I get them in chunky potting soil, water them when they are dry, and fertilize as instructed. I also use drops of root hormone when I first repot them. I’ve learned to expect them to look like they’re dying for two months and then they adjust and start growing and it’s super rewarding!
