I’ve been rooting these prickly pear pads for about a month. They seem to be rooting well. I can’t decide if they’ll be ok if I plant them in the ground or if I should try to keep them indoors over the winter and plant them in spring. The cuttings were from an in-ground mother plant from my area so I know they’ll be compatible to my climate. I am in north eastern Ohio. Anyone with advice or experience with these would be appreciated.

    wait for roots to begin circling the sides of the pot. then, if you group them all close to each other, i think in-ground could be okay. this looks to be opuntia humifusa which is native to most of the US so you should be all good just letting nature take the wheel after that
