Helpppp please! I just got this monstera and noticed that a leaf had completely snapped off. I’ve had it for about a week now and it was one of the heavier, newer leaves. I repotted because there were 4 plants in 1 pot and then adjusted the stakes (also don’t know if I’m doing that right either) Can someone experienced with monsteras help? This is my first one and I’m so sad about this leaf😭😭😭
The leaf probably snapped because of the way you have them secured to the support. You want to tie around the stem itself, between some nodes. You currently have the 2 monsteras in that pot tied down by the petioles. This photo shows where to attach your monstera, and goes for plants like philodendrons and other climbers with internodal stems that grow petioles for the leaf supports

0 Mi piaceI agree, it’s most likely how you have it tied up, but don’t worry too much about it. Losing leaves is inevitable, but I’m still frustrated and sad every time too. If you want it to really thrive and mature faster, I’d recommend using a moss pole it can root into for support. Once it grows into the moss pole leaf placement will become natural, but that takes time. Here are a few of my plants for example.
Here is an example of a plant I just put on a moss pole yesterday too for reference. Obviously it’s a different plant, but the principal is the same.
