Hello!! If anyone could tell me know any care tips or anything about this plant that would be greatly appreciated!! I believe it is a calathea and that it needs to be watered fairly often.

    it is a calethea! (cant find the exact type right now but i will comment when i find it) they love humidity, so i would try to put it in a place like a bathroom that has higher humidity levels, or near a humidifier if you have one. they like bright indirect light, as direct rays (and lower humidity levels) will burn and crips the leaves. harsh chemicals in tap water will also cause your leaves to crisp up, so you can use filtered tap, distilled, rain, or reverse osmosis (RO) to water! speaking of watering, i would wait until maybe half the soil has dried out, as they like staying moist! (others might say more often, as i do err on the side of underwatering) they are in the prayer plant family, so every night theyre leaves fold upwards, and then back down in the morning, so you might find that the leaves will be in different positions depending on when you see your lil guy! apparently, spider mites love them, so make sure to do regular pest checks; inspect the leaves, and the underside near where the stem meets the leaf. i think that is it, but if i remember anything else, i will be sure to update :) good luck, and have fun!!

    Use bottled or rain water!! Also, check out Aloha Plant Life on YouTube as they cover a loooot of different problems and issues which helped me anyways

      Also!! I water mine when it’s dry but not bone dry and absolutely soaaaak ittt, but with well draining soil ofc, but people stressed over watering so much that I under watered mine! And from what I’ve heard, they can be sensitive to direct light, so a bright space away from the window is perfect (I think, for mine anyways)
