Hii! I need some help with picking a good fertilizer for all my plants. I have a wide range of plants but mainly concerned about my Alocasias needing fertilizer. I’ve heard good things about worm castings? What do yall recommend? Thanks in advance!! :)

All fertilizers, I think including products like worm castings, have a series of 3 numbers called the NPK numbers. The first one is nitrogen the second one is phosphorus and the last one is potassium. There's more to it than this but generally speaking nitrogen is for foliage growth, phosphorus is for flowers and potassium is good for roots and a lot of other stuff. Regardless of whether it's an organic fertilizer or a synthetic fertilizer these numbers will always represent the ratio of NPK. With organics the numbers are usually low. All purpose fertilizers the numbers are usually the same or close to the same like 12-12-12 or 20-20-20. If you plan to fertilize with every watering it's good to dilute the fertilizer to at least half strength if it's a chemical fertilizer. Most alocasias are considered heavy feeders so they should be fed regularly during the growing season.

Do you have any specific fertilizers you recommend?

I use arber products! They have an organic fertilizer so its NPK is low, like 3-2-1. It’s gentle yet quite potent, I pretty much use it a general fertilizer for all my plants. I’ve been using them for a while and my plants seem happy so I like it, my few alocasias like it too!
