Common Ivy Help Please! My common ivy seems to have trouble maintaining leaves. It sprouts new leaves but the new leaves would die off quite quickly. The stems now look a bit sorry for itself, so any advice would be much appreciated. Thank you in advance!
Have you given it fertilizer? I wonder if trimming it back would help it? Then it could concentrate its energy on a smaller area to replenish? I’m no pro just guessing.

0개 좋아요 I keep mine much further away from the window. It’s in the center of the house where it has bright, indirect light. It does like to be misted as well. I’m still thinking fertilizer will help. And trimming it back so it can bulk up instead of getting more leggy. As someone suggested cut it back thoughtfully so you can propagate!! BTW Ivy is a difficult plant so don’t be hard on yourself! 0개 좋아요Your zone and lighting matter. Four feet back is never going to be enough with my not-South-facing windows in New Hampshire.
0개 좋아요For now you may want to back off on watering. The more “sparse” the plant is, the less it will be using the water
좋아요 1개You can propagate what you trim off. The plant should have well draining soil. But it also likes to stay moist but not waterlogged. Bright indirect light
