Made my first moss poles but waiting for the back of the moss pole to come in to modify and helps hold moisture to moss pole thinking of running string through upper middle of moss pole to wick the water through the pole💭🤔

Oh I haven’t thought of running a water wick up a moss pole 😮 Sounds like I could help. I also like the idea of acetate for backing on the pole. I’ve wrapped mine with plastic wrap when I’ve wanted moisture retention, but I like the more permanent/reusable solution

Looks good! Only issue is that you made them too short. The are both one leaf away from out growing the poles 😅 I’m using clear shelf liner for the backing on my Manjula pole. I need to extend this one soon too.

I’m aware and can easily extend them but it was infortunate for me that the mesh I ordered was a lot shorter than I thought so I’m ordering the long mesh tomorrow but as for these I can easily secure another one to it with zip ties and easily add more moss from the top I honestly just did it to get the feel to making them once my acetate sheets to make even better ones

You could save a lot of mesh with just poking holes on the plastic and zip trying

Totally hear you. My first attempt at a “moss wall” was a mess lol. It’s definitely a process with experimentation to dial it in.

Interesting. That screenshot looks like it’s the soft plastic mesh instead of wire mesh. Wonder how that would impact stability when you extend the poles.
