Hiya! I have a younger fiddle leaf fig that is shooting up and is very healthy, but is just growing straight up, i was wondering if anyone had any tips on how to get it to branch out a bit more? or is it just normal and will happen as it gets older??

FLF don’t branch unless you “top” them. (Cut the top growth end). That should force it to branch out but if they aren’t topped they can actually grow to 30 ft tall. I wouldn’t top it until it gets to the maximum height you want. If you want it fuller without topping it you might plant another one in the same pot. The photo is mine and there are actually two plants in the same pot so it appears much fuller.

You could also try keiki orchid paste and apply it to the lower nodes. It should trigger new growth without having to cut the top. Works really well with ficus plants and pothos
