🍄🌿✨

I got this little greenhouse from ikea & weather stripped the bottom and put in some grow lights. It still has gaps where the front opens so I’m trying to think of plants to put in it that don’t need high humidity but they still like humidity and don’t grow as fast so they can stay in there longer. If you have any suggestions let me know!

Maybe Alocasia? They like humidity but don’t need 100%

Calathea! Mine super droops and has no growth if I don’t have it in at least 50- 60% humidity. I recently had to find a solution for my humidity loving plants that didn’t require humidifiers (mold issues). We bought fish tanks and had acrylic lids custom made. I thought I’d have to constantly add water to my rock trays and keep the lids tightly closed to reach that humidity. I quickly found out that’s not necessary! lol so if yours has gaps that’s totally ok! If I completely close up the top of my tanks the humidity reaches 90% lol I have to leave the tops angled to keep the humidity down.

U can see at the top how much I have to have the lid off center so the humidity doesn’t get too high. Also! When I started this project other people helped me out by letting me know I’d need a computer fan in there. I didn’t understand why at first. Any other fan will be too high powered and not good for the leaves. We got a couple of them off Amazon for like 20 bucks a piece. Also super helpful to have a hygrometer in it. For this long tank u can see I have one placed at each end.

Sorry for all the posts lol I’m just super excited about my humidity tanks and happy to share about them. I keep thinking on your question of what plants r good for in there. Rex begonia almost died till I put it in a tank and now it’s flourishing. What the first person said- alocasia. polka dot plant. My propagations. All of my younger philos. Of course eventually those will need moved out.
