So my house is very shady, and with all the windows closed, it is currently 63 degrees Fahrenheit in my house. I am in SC and we are still in the 70s during the day. I know my plants won't freeze....but is it too cold? I really hate to put the heat on!!

It’s about the same here. I open windows during the day when it’s warm. But at 63 your plants are fine. If you want more affirmation, look at the needs for each of your plants in Planta. It tells you temperature requirements.

A temperature of 64°F is not too low for my tropical plants. That’s the night temperature here in South Texas. My plants are still outside since daytime temperatures are in the 90s this week. Phil is right that you have to check the temperature requirement for each plant. My old monstera and ponytail cactus live outside all year round. I move them in for a week when the temperature drops below freezing. They are used to the low temperatures and sit on a large concrete deck that holds heat. 🪴🍀

No most tropical plants prefer a cooler evening temperature. Many don’t like it below 60 and some can tolerate an occasional 50. They pretty much adjust to what comfort level we are used to.

Well they clearly won’t freeze at 63! Maybe add a humidifier for any plants that do like a warmer temp. But otherwise I’m sure you’re fine! The plants will tell you too!
