It is summer and temperatures are about in the 80’s now! Should I accept that it’s now too hot for my pansies? Would watering them more help them? :( they are drooping and leggy.

SunnyLeggy conditions indicates it needs more light/water. Fading colors and dying leaves is showing the plant is outside its ideal temperature range. Adding more water won’t fix a plant that gets too hot. Ideal temperatures for pansies are below 60 °F.
