Hi, I had some plastic pots from last season (and some from two seasons ago) that I wanted to clean out and reuse for the future ๐Ÿ˜‹. Some of them have mold possibly, do those need to be thrown out? As for the others, most of Iโ€™ve read online says you should brush them out first, then soak them in one part bleach to nine parts water for at least 10 minutes. Is this the best way to clean out pots? Does anyone else use other methods? If anyone has any advice please let me know, it would be appreciated ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ™

I just wash them out with water and a tiny bit of soap and rinse really well. Then they live in the garage until Iโ€™m ready to use them. Personally I think this is a plant hack I never thought about when I started this hobby. Now Iโ€™m sure I have way too many nursery pots waiting to be filled but ๐Ÿคท๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธ

You can also get out any visible dirt/mold and mist with isopropyl alcohol. Or sometimes Iโ€™ll just run a load of them through the dishwasher on the hot setting

The method you mentioned would be great if you thought the pot needed a deep cleaning - unless the plant youโ€™re going to put in it is especially sensitive to its environment, all you really need to do is just rinse, wash with dish soap, rinse well, and let it dry
