Hey! I'm new to the group, but I'm wondering if anyone can she'd some light on my situation. I have this beautiful silver inch plant "wanda", I basically repropped all her vines last year straight into the soil without starting the vines in water. I was going for a stronger root system. However, The top half of her vines are all loosing their leaves while the bottom half is beautiful and healthy. Does anyone have any advice of knowledge they could share?

Maybe cut the good bit and put them in water,I propagated mine in water before putting them in soil and it’s doing great.

It could be insufficient light and/or water. I recommend propagating the best parts. Add a clip-on multi-light grow light to give the plants more light all over including near the rim. Regularly fertilize. Don’t delay watering.

Honestly, this is normal for tradescantia and one of the reasons I personally don’t like them. They look gorgeous when they’re short and bushy, but require regular maintenance to look good. Once they get longer, they look sickly. As others have said, you can prop at this point. In the future, you might try pruning the ends to possibly make them bushier, healthier looking.

Pinch off the vines more often. Tradescantia have a horrible habit of vining themselves to death. They grow so long they kill themselves in the process. Growth does not always equal health!
