This may be a dumb question, but I’ll ask it anyway. When a plant is planted in a plastic pot, but it’s in a ceramic cover pot, do you tell Planta it’s in a plastic pot or a ceramic pot?

    Not a dumb question at all. You say plastic pot. Thats where the soil and roots are. Just remember the ceramic cover will hold moisture more then just plastic so when planta tells you to water just make sure it really needs watering..

    I tell plants what the pot the soil and roots are in, not the cover. The main reason is that the material of the pot changes the way it dries, if you plant directly in terracotta it usually dries out faster as the surface is porous and removes water from the soil, but plastic is non-porous and retains more water.

    Thank you for your responses. The reason I ask is because of watering. I feel like Planta is telling me to water too often with these plants. Don’t want root rot!
