Hey all! Wife and eye are going to try our hands at gardening. Question about the Orange Mint we got from the nursery. We got her on 6/27 and sits now under the growing light for 14 hours on a timer. Gave her a good watering till she drained out the bottom this morning. What's the next step? How does the plant look? Figured get it in a new pot and some fresh soil. She looks a little bare...do I cut her down? All our growing has to be done inside since we don't get enough light from our balcony in the apartment. End goal is hydroponics but I'm a few days out from finishing a 3d printed tower for that. Any help would be appreciated.

Looks fine and healthy to me. Mints run, so I already see runners starting on the bottom. That's a good sign that it is healthy. Since you just repotted and watered her, leave her be under the grow light for now. But if she starts to wilt, it might be that she needs a bigger pot or that you're overwatering, so be careful of that.

That's great to hear! Appreciate you letting me know. That is still the nursery pot.I did not change it yet. Should I try pinching to bring the height down and make it fluff?

If that is the pot you got it in, repot and upsize. Mint runs and grows wildly, and if it runs out of space or you do not prune it, it will die.

I checked it yesterday after work and setting some new white lights up to go with my pink and noticed the roots are out the bottom. No time this morning so I just pruned the runners a little bit and plan to repot today. Thanks again for the insight
