I❤️Cats 🌶️

Hey there! Does anyone know any good indoor plants for my bedroom? It needs to be able to survive with little sunlight, as my window only lets in sun in the morning (I don’t want to use a grow light). Something that looks nice on my desk. I was thinking about a mini monstera, but I want something a little smaller. Any ideas or comments? TIA!

Pothos or snake plant is always a good choice but they will grow and can get big. I don’t know what size plant you’re interested in. I see you love cats so if you do have cats they can cause an allergic reaction if they nibble on the leaves so that’s something to consider as well. Hope this helps!

Well, one thing to consider is that plants in very low light are going to grow much, much more slowly!

do not use chatgpt or any other generative ai like it. the data centers are destroying ecosystems by contaminating water and raising temperatures in the area. if you care about plants, you should care about the wild ones we depend on, too.

Ai chatbots have also caused cases of psychosis, and can be genuinely dangerous if they're used for medical or dietary stuff (at least one person has died because ai said it was totally fine for him to eat insane amounts of salt). And ai is plagiarism

Maybe a small fern? There are some really neat kinds like button ferns and blue star ferns. A prayer plant might do well, I have one and he's even flowered in what I would call low light.

Agreed! I have a dracanea in my bedroom in a corner where it gets only a bit of indirect light and it’s thriving.

Maybe a dracaena Palm /dragon tree of somen kind or any type of caladium if you want the extra tropical look... I couldn't find a dark enough place for My caladium magnificum this winter as I tried to Force dormancy on it because I wanted it to be a stronger plant.. But it never did die back 🥴🤣🤸 that would be my top choice

you can get a cheap plant light like this for $10 on amazon. I love it, its dimmable, and it even has a 8/12/16 hour timer that helps me wake up in the morning!

Agleonema are great low light plants. You don’t want a palm unless you do plan on getting a grow light tbh
