my bf has decapitated two seperate plants in our sliding door. I absolutely do not promote domestic abuse but when I tell you how close I was…

It’s me. It’s always me 🥲 Okay, like 99% of the time it’s me. The 1% is a cat getting too excited about a bird out the window, or someone opening the windows on a windy day. But those are still kind of on me because I know the windowsill is a bad place for lightweight pots and top-heavy plants. Yet I always clean up and put them right back in the same spot 🤪 I keep telling myself that if I had fewer plants, they would look nicer. I could focus more individual time on each one, they wouldn’t be all cluttered together, and I wouldn’t be knocking pots over left, right, and center 😅 But I just keep propagating and collecting… and knocking over and sweeping up 😂 I would be pretty upset if someone else damaged one of my special plants. But so far it’s only been me doing it lol. Some of my classic moves are accidentally snapping off new leaves while trying to “help” them unfurl. It’s never a good idea! At best the leaf gets scarred, at worst it breaks off entirely. And I keep doing it anyways like I’ve got short term memory loss! Another me classic is clotheslining a plant stand with the vacuum cord (after I had JUST repotted my massive peperomia into a brand new 10” pot). And probably my most unique crime against plants: somehow spearing a hole through 5 different philodendron painted lady leaves by dropping a paintbrush pointy end down! 🤣 Like how?? It didn’t have a knife tip, I swear lol Anyways, I’m sorry to hear your plant got damaged! Hopefully it grows back quickly and beautifully, and the culprit learns from their mistakes better than I do 😅
3 Me gustaLMAOOO this had me rolling ! I am guilty of trying to help the leaf out also 🫢 but I always stop myself before doing too much 🤣 I’ve never had a plant knocked over or having to repot because of it loll. My boyfriend was lifting my daughter, they were playing, and knocked my hanging snow queen off that my mom just got me for my birthday ! 😭😭 snapped maybe 2 leaves, I haven’t noticed any major damage since but I’m sure I’ll see some brown scarring soon enough 🥲 as if that was bad enough all the soil got in my rug some on my bed and the rest all over my daughter 💀 needless to say I think she was just as pissed as I was 🤣🤣 it was just very much an inconvenience and he’s lucky I had just bought more soil ! 😡🤣 almost made him sleep on the floor with the soil spilled 🤣

Ahahaha I can totally picture a little girl’s face after getting a rude dirt surprise while playing 🤣 Whoopsies. Leave it to guys to go overboard lifting and spinning kids lol. That heartbeat skip when a dad is tossing his baby really high in the air 😳😂 Oh no, not a new plant too! Insult to injury! That happened to me once. I had gotten myself a gorgeous full jade bonsai, and I didn’t realize soon enough how heavy that lush top was compared to the flimsy nursery pot. My poor jade was definitely less instagram ready after that 🥲 And it’s hasn’t recovered since then because apparently jades are actually my nemesis plant. I can make a notoriously fussy plant thrive, but give me a jade and it’ll beg for mercy 😅 But thankfully pothos are fast growers. If you’re like me, you’ll still grind your gears over any scarred leaves until the plant is totally grown out. But I hope you’re not as painfully obsessed with each leaf as I am lol He is lucky he got you more soil recently lol. I’ve been low on my potting mix lately, and a family member “helped” me by vacuuming up spilled soil before I found it. I was like “nooooo I hardly have any soil base left! And that was my custom mix with my best amendments! How could you just vacuum it and throw it out?!” And they’re just like “…you’re welcome for cleaning.” They just don’t get us 🥲 lol
0 Me gustaAhh this is me but my nemesis plants are kalanchoes and succulents 😭
0 Me gustaI too have clotheslined a plant. Heartbreaking!!! Also my mom brutally severed a beautiful, lush monstera adansonii vine in half while trying to help me fix an issue with a curtain rod… but I took the severed end and rooted it - now it’s a mostly-healthy plant, while the original suffered from a terrible thrips infestation. (This one had maybe a couple bugs but totally manageable.) Maybe a blessing in disguise?…
