Jnmsngs

I’ve been growing this pink eureka lemon tree in a pot on my patio since early June and it appears to be mostly thriving (some flowers, perhaps now some very small baby lemons), except over the last month I’ve been dealing with fungus gnats. I’ve been treating the gnats with mozzie bits and rosemary/peppermint oil spray, but they keep coming back. Additionally I noticed some small mushrooms growing by the trunk this morning. Do I need to water less? Should I remove the mushrooms? Do I just continue as is and hope the gnats will eventually die off? Any tips appreciated!

I was told mushrooms are a sign of healthy soil

This is true and false technically. Theyre a sign the soil is nutrient rich and moist but can also be a sign of too much moisture. They shouldn’t last for long otherwise your soil holds too much water.

To kill the gnats you can get beneficial SF nematodes or you can put park of a mosquito dunk in your water can next time you water. Idk if that’s good for edible plants but I’ve heard it works great on gnat larvae nonetheless
