if you have a fish tank i highly recommend using the discard water for prayer plants and other sensitive plants you may have in your collection. otherwise run your water through a filter and then treat with an aquarium water conditioner to dissolve the chlorines/chloramines. many people recommend distilled water but it’s really quite costly, at $1-2 per gallon in the u.s. northeast, and also very detrimental to the environment, so i advise against it.
