Hello everyone! 😊 I’m a new plant mom and have completely fallen in love with this hobby. I’ve been scrolling through everyone’s beautiful plants and reading your stories, and it’s been so inspiring! I’d love to learn from all of you. If you could recommend one indoor plant that’s beginner-friendly and forgiving, what would it be and why? I’m excited to keep learning and can’t wait to grow my little plant family. 🌿💚

I’d recommend a Golden Pothos, they bring a certain natural charm while also being nearly impossible to kill! A Money Tree is also a good one if you have a freer schedule, and even if you don’t, they bounce back to normal health easy. Again, welcome to the plant family, you’ll learn so many things and hope you have an enjoyable experience with your plant babies!! 🪴

Thank you so much! 😊 I actually have a Money Tree already, and it’s been doing really well so far. It seems like Golden Pothos has officially become the community favorite. 😂 I think that’s definitely going to be one of my next plants. Thank you for the warm welcome and the encouragement. Everyone has been so kind, and it’s made starting this hobby even more exciting! 🌿💚

Yes, Pothos are very good plants for beginners, and once you nail those, you can start advancing yourself to more advanced plants 🪴 Plants are amazing I’ll tell you!! Good luck 🍀

Thank you so much! 😊 I think that’s exactly the plan. I’ll start with a Golden Pothos and really learn how to care for it before branching out into more advanced plants. Everyone has been so encouraging, and I’m excited to keep learning one plant at a time. Thank you for the good luck wishes! 🌿💚🍀

I recommend snake plants, pothos, and a spider plant! I know these have already been said but I started off with a snake plant and it is still alive!!!! I had a very bad history with plants until I got a snake plant! Then I got a pothos from a funeral and it is doing great! I love my spider plant but I didn’t have it as a beginner but they are so easy to care for!

I recommend pothos, snake plants and spider plants. Pothos very forgiving and I love propagating them and growing more! They’re also so pretty when they trail

Thank you! 😊 Pothos has definitely become the number one recommendation, so I think the plant community has officially made that decision for me! 😂 I can already picture how beautiful they must look trailing from a shelf. I’m adding one to my list for sure. Thank you so much for the recommendation! 🌿💚

many people have a vandetta against succulents and cacti, but i must say, they're incredibly easy. i have a thanksgiving cactus, a stonecrop, an aloe, and a prickly pear and they're all a breeze. to check if they're thirsty give the leaves a little squeeze, if they're firm they're full, if they're soft they're thirsty. they're wonderful

Thank you! 😊 That’s actually really reassuring to hear because succulents and cacti were the only plants that made me a little nervous. I already have an aloe and an African milk cactus, and they’ve both been doing well so far. I love your tip about gently squeezing the leaves to check if they’re thirsty. That’s such an easy trick for a beginner like me to remember. I really appreciate you sharing that with me! 🌿💚

I know I’m probably blowing into the wind here with how many suggestions you’re getting 😂😂 but I second both the snake plant and ZZ plant, you can never have too much. One I didn’t see come up as much is a rubber plant or baby rubber plant. I have a baby rubber plant that I literally almost killed multiple times now and it has bounced back so beautifully, now one of the healthiest in my collection!

Thank you so much! 😊 I don’t mind all the suggestions at all. Everyone has been so kind, and I’m loving learning from people with so much experience. I actually already have a ZZ plant, and it’s quickly becoming one of my favorites! A baby rubber plant is a new recommendation though, and I love hearing that yours bounced back so well after almost being lost. That’s definitely giving me confidence as a beginner! I’ll be adding that one to my growing wish list too. Thank you for sharing! 🌿💚

💐I just wanted to say a heartfelt thank you to everyone who took the time to share your recommendations, tips, and encouragement with me. When I joined this community, I never imagined how welcomed and supported I would feel. Every comment has taught me something new, and your kindness has made this journey so much more enjoyable. I just have to say… my heart is so full. 💚 When I joined this amazing community, I only had 4 little plants. Thanks to your kindness, encouragement, and wonderful recommendations, I now have 34 beautiful plant babies! 🌿 I honestly never imagined I’d become a real plant mom, but here I am. These plants have brought so much peace into my home, and yes… I’ve named every single one because they all have their own little personalities. 🥹💚 Thank you for making me feel so welcomed, sharing your knowledge so freely, and giving me the confidence to grow this little family. I truly feel like I found my people, and I’m so grateful to be part of this beautiful community. 💚🌿

😂😂 It happens so fast! I actually got another one today as a gift, so that makes 35. Then I accidentally ended up with 3 more yesterday, so now I’m officially at 38! 🤦🏽‍♀️🤣 Your comment made me laugh because it’s nice knowing I’m not the only one who fell down the plant rabbit hole! 😂 Thank you for all your recommendations and for cheering me on. I really appreciate it! 💚🌿 I promised myself I’m done for at least 90 days though. My windows are officially full! 😂🌱
