My inkling is yea, but those roots need some help…. A browning spike is totally normal, but I’d cut yours off at the base. Then I would gently see if I can remove that center plug. I’d cut off any roots that are dried and shriveled or brown and squishy. Based on your roots that may end up being quite a lot. It looks like there are some green healthy ones there though 👍🏻 Then I’d plant it in an orchid specific mix in a pot with lots of holes, 2-3” larger than whatever root ball you have left. Let soak in water only up to the base, for 10-15 mins and put in a spot that gets lots of indirect light. Keep an eye on the roots for when to water again. Green/white - no water, greyish - they can be watered.

it looks relatively healthy, i’m guessing under watered by the shriveled roots. greenleaf offered some good advice: trim any really dead looking roots, try to remove the peat plug in the center, plant in a very airy, chunky mix in a pot with lots of holes, and water. silvery orchid roots mean they’re thirsty, a clear pot will help you tell when it’s time to water

Do you think I should put it in soil or can I put it in water?

water culture works for orchids, just make sure only the tips of the roots are submerged so there’s lots of airflow. an inch or so of water in the bottom of a wide vessel is usually plenty. it’s helpful to allow the water to completely evaporate sometimes too, orchids like a dry period between waterings

I’d say yes because there are still some health root. Cut off the dead ones. And I’ve heard different but I usually cut my flower stalks once they’re finished blooming.
