My jade plant is dropping a lot of leaves, but at the same time putting some new little sprouts from joints at the base. Any suggestions? I don’t know whether this is a problem or a normal phase.

I wouldn’t say it’s normal. I’ve got a 30-year-old jade that started experiencing that when it needed a repot, so I’d say it definitely wouldn’t hurt to check the roots. And if your jade is anything like mine and the soil has become cement-like or hydrophobic from not being repotted in a while, then you can try to pull it out in one piece with the soil still covering the roots, and sit the soil and roots in a container with room temp water and some hydrogen peroxide for about it 30 minutes, then take it out of the water to loosen up the soil and see what you’re working with. Once you can rule out if the roots are doing well out not, it’ll be easier to deduce what the problem is. Hope this helps!
