Hello, I could use some advice. We've had heavy rain almost every day for over a week, and now many of my potted plants on the porch are producing different kinds of mushrooms. I haven't been watering because the humidity and rain have kept the soil plenty moist. What can I put on the soil to stop the fungal growth? Is there a safe treatment, or do I just need to let the soil dry out? Thanks in advance!

I thought mushrooms was a sign that the soil is good and healthy? I don’t think you need to do anything besides pull out the mushrooms if you’d like.

you can find many many fungicides and natural fungus deterrents online, if you're looking for natural, scoop out the topsoil and sprinkle with unsweetened cinnamon powder. however, because these plants are outside, you must understand that there is no treatment that can 100% stop the mushrooms lol. mushrooms are not harmful to your plants (but are harmful to you or any furry friends you have, if consumed) and generally indicate good soil quality.

I wouldn’t use fungicides unnecessarily unless fungus is affecting your plants. Let it be or pull the mushies if you like.
