Hello! I got this baby variegated Hoya rope about a month ago and Planta has me watering it about every two weeks but some of the bigger leaves on it look kind of wrinkly. I’m wondering if that’s bad or just normal for this kind of plant. Also, does anybody know how quickly these grow because it doesn’t look like it’s anywhere close to shooting out a new leaf? And I think it was a cutting because the bottom leaves are much bigger than the newer top ones. Thank you!
How does the first quarter inch of soil feel? If it’s dry it needs to be watered more. Mine was pretty slow growing, so I think it’s normal, especially going into the winter season. Be careful with this Hoya though, they’re prone to pests.

I had one for a few years. It is slow growing and you’re coming into dormancy time. I strongly suggest you start a regular pest control regimen. Because they attract mealy bugs. I sprayed mine every time I watered. Using a systemic would be even better. Succulent/cactus soil and only water when totally dry. I am fond of terracotta for young succulents. Snooze the Planta task if it’s not needed. The app will adjust over time. About the wrinkles though, do you feel the pot is getting thoroughly moist? Maybe try bottom watering next time just in case it may be hydrophobic.

Hoyas are notoriously slow growers. And definitely prefer dry over wet soil.
