I bought a lipstick plant about 2 months ago, maybe more. Some of the stems coming out the soil were very lose and came out very easily, the roots weren’t secure at all, so I just took them out. The plant has been growing AMAZINGLY for me. But I was testing the soil moisture and noticed one was very very lose and it just came out with no resistance. Any ideas as to why? It wasn’t dying or anything. I could put it back in with no issues, but if the roots aren’t secure in the soil after 2 months then what’s the point?

    Same issue here. I bought one from a private party, got it home and it was like the stems were just stuck in the soil, although at that time the leaves were still healthy. Now I’m down to one stem with leaves. No signs of any insect issues. Not real happy with this plant but I’m trying to nurse it back to health. (Ignore the writing on the re-used pot)

      Cut and prop in water. Let it grow and then cut and prop until you get a glass full. Then you can pot them up and have a great plant. 🌱 😊

    It defo seems like a “multiple plants in one pot” situation for us both. Luckily mine that fell out were from the back, so aesthetically the plants still brilliant, and is growing nicely. On the bright side, the feeling of nursing a plant back is brilliant, so at least you have that to look forward to!

    Mine was the same, nursed it for about a year, got a bloom out of it but it never really grew new leaves. At this time it is in the graveyard.

    The place where you got it might have put some cuttings in there to make it look fuller. I've heard this happens alot but idk why its not growing roots by now.
