Winter is so hard on my plants. The cold and the dry air just make mine struggle

Oh yeah I agree, I got a new humidifier for my plant corner, it definitely is helping according to my hygrometer

I have a plant room and a plant stand by my south facing window. I had a humidifier die over the weekend 😭

I have tended to all my tasks today for all my plants (over 50)… and all my grow lights are on trying to brighten up my attitude lol… music is also on softly in the background while I’m working on the computer. Well, I’m retired now but started writing books to stay busy.

That sounds like a good planty and relaxing day, oh I love writing, I used to do a lot of it before I went to college and then after marrying and having a toddler there is no time for that anymore lol.

I may have a couple of tiny tips. First of all, use terra cotta. It will actually help the plants dry out so you DO get to water them sometimes. Second, make sure your soil is definitely chunky. Third, buy more plants. 😅 if I have days where I don’t have SOMETHING to do with my plants I feel the need to buy at least one more to fill that gap. It’s worked so far, and now Planta gives me something to do every day. It’s helping me to feel better.

That is good advice for sure, I do have Terra cotta and love me a chunky mix. Maybe I need to buy more plants, I’ll have to wait till spring though so that the cold snap doesn’t get them, then next winter I’ll be more busy lol

I go to local stores. I don’t order them. I have a local building supply store that keeps a decent stock during the winter, and a grocery store that has a wee plant nursery in it, which also maintains a few plants. It’s a little more sparse, but I still land one here and there. And a little farther afield I have a favourite plant shop which always has something. So I just have to make it a point to visit my mom more often as she lives in the same city as the plant shop. 😀 And then I get to tend to her plants too, because while she has a pretty green thumb for outdoor plants, I’ve got skill for indoor plants. 😄
