do you think a pot with an attached saucer is enough drainage for a sage plant? or does it have to be removable?

I’m not super familiar with herbs so I can’t speak specifically about sage, but for pots with attached saucers I typically put a layer of leca at the bottom so the hole is less likely to clog up with dirt and prevent drainage

Most herbs like to be more in the dry side, don’t water it very often and keep the tray empty or pot it with drainage and still don’t water it often

Is it the same one as this? If so you just pull down.🤍🪴

what elle said, if you’re gonna use that kind of pot then make sure the dirt doesn’t compact. a layer of leca on the bottom and extra perlite added in the soil on top should do you well.

I wanted to piggyback on this conversation as I have a couple pots like this and wondered how to remove the tray. Is there a method that doesn’t seem as if you are destroying the pot? With the holes, it seems removable.
