This is an update on my Dieffenbachia Camilla. The leaves look “dry not w/a healthy gloss or shine”. I am not sure if I should get one of those plant lights. Here are pics. I am watering it once a week or when soil is dry, and I make sure I am draining out the excess water. It looks like it is dying. Is the new pot too big…I am just unsure. I feel sad because I have been really trying not to let it die but I’m not sure I’m successful. Any thoughts? Thanks for your advice.

I’m sorry that I have no solid advice here, all I will say is that I have over 70 plants, and I cannot keep a dieffenbachia happy for the life of me… they are such little drama queens. I hope she heals up! ❤️‍🩹

Good night! And the woman at the Farmers Market told me to get this plant when I told her “I am not good with plants” 🤦🏾‍♀️ I have this ultra violet light I bought… I don’t even know if this would help. In any case… thanks for sharing and responding. Happy Holidays to you.

Looks possibly fungal. Check the roots for rot (if you find rot, replace the soil, add a higher drainage soil at the very bottom of the pot, and treat the roots with hydrogen peroxide. Also make sure the pot isn't oversized for the root mass; you want the pot to be 1-2 inches in diameter bigger than the root ball.) If you don't find rot, it might be a sunburn or temperature issue. Protect it from extreme temperatures and maybe move it further away from its window or lighting

Thanks I wanted to share that I saw little flying bugs…. How do I get rid of the bugs and how do I treat the roots with Hydrogen peroxide? I am a “Virgin Plant Owner”. I do not get good lighting in my house. I’m in NYC and right now it’s 26 degrees and so I can’t have them on my terrace. What do I do first? Take plant out of pot? Do I rinse off roots? Is this where I treat the roots with the peroxide? And what am I doing with the peroxide? I wonder if this is my issues with my snake plant too. Thanks
