i’m a new plant mom, so i am not very knowledgeable about advanced plants.. anyway, i just got this fern from trader joe’s the other day, and i was wondering why the leaves on it are turning purple? i mist it 1-3 times a day, it sits near a heater but also next to a colder window, and it was (possibly) overwatered 3 days ago because i didn’t realize that TJ’s waters their plants, so i gave it a little tiny extra water that same day i got it. i loosened the dirt at the drainage holes and top of the pot as well for less chance of root rot. is there anything i should be doing differently, a little more, a little less, or is this normal? i am just not sure so if anyone could help i would greatly appreciate it! :)

Not enough light? If it sits on that table and the window is over there, that looks like a very low-light environment to me.

    It is probably too cold

I’d repot her, give her some fresh soil to rule out potential root rot and to also take a look at the roots. Put her somewhere warm, good light and also good humidity (ferns crisp up without humidity indoors, since they are usually native to rainforests)

thank you! i was thinking about repotting her when i first got her, and i already ended up putting her somewhere away from the window where she still gets good enough sunlight but wont end up being too cold, as well as i mist her more frequently than my other plants.
