My cactus has about doubled its size in 2 months. Should I put it in a bigger pot now? And do these cacti grow any wider or just up? I’m loving its growth though! Thanks!

This my bad, it’s actually been almost 3 months. Not 2. But it’s still growing like crazy. Been really cool to watch.

These bad boys get tall! Good on ya for getting this much growth in 2 months! Getting top heavy will be a problem before getting too wide for the container. Also, these are a cereus (I forget the species) marketed as “cuddly cactus”. The fruit is fantastic, similar to a dragon fruit—just less aggressive looking.

Thanks! This is helpful. I will probably put it in something bigger soon.

I also didn’t realize they grow a fruit?! That’s awesome.

Most plants produce flowers or fruits if they are in the right conditions! I just learned monsteras produce fruits as well! 🤯 This is some serious growth! Congrats!!

I’ve heard the monstera fruits are delicious. I got one (and learned this info) at a edible-only nursery near me 💚

I love how you can see the new growth from the old growth, so cool!

I swear it’s a Cactus take over due to {looks around and whispers…} Climate Change. T.C. here was perfectly fine then i woke up one morning and BAM! He was 4” taller and now he’s in need of scaffolding all around him. The cacti around him also grew outrageous and I had to cut them down at the waste. And for every prickly pear pad that i have 3 new pads formed. I have almost 50 new Prickly Pads that I have had to cut and pot. And this isn’t Death Valley, nor Arizona. And I have no southern windows in the row home that I exist in. This is Philadelphia!
