I just bought a monstera. I have placed it at a south facing window, I know that is not the best, but I do not have any other good window spots. I have another big window (south facing) that I can place the monstera a foot away from. If I do that, and invest in some sheer curtains, would that make do? Currently it is winter, so I am not horribly worried about burn spots. Any tips for humidity as well. I was planning on a mist/spray every morning. Tell me if you have any other tips. Edit: I have ordered a humidifier. :)

Misting or spraying is useless.... you need a humidifier if that's something you need

That would definitely work. Personally, mine is loving life in a south facing window without any kind of curtain, but it also worked up to being in that spot. I think if you start it there in the winter that would naturally acclimate it to handle the bright sun in spring and summer. But if you want to be safe, a sheer curtain or placing it a few feet back would help. Monsteras tolerate normal household humidity levels really well, but if you are worried about it a humidifier is your best bet. Misting doesn’t hurt anything but it also doesn’t really increase humidity levels.
